Many of us realise just how dedicated current club president Jess Henry is to the success of Gordon. Now the wider cricketing community has taken note too. Jess has been nominated as "Star Volunteer" in the Weetbix mycricket awards. This award recognises the individual who contributes significantly to their club. Nominations come from all over the country, and winners are decided from public votes. It would be great to see Jess win. Not only would it show Gordon's appreciation for all the hard behind the scenes work that Jess does, it also gives the Gordon club $400 worth of new equipment. To vote for Jess, head to the Weetbix mycricket awards page, and scroll down to the Star Volunteer category where you will see Jess' nomination.

The Gordon District Cricket Club are hosting a fundraising golf day, auction and dinner on Thursday 16th February. This is a fantastic initiative run by the men's club, with proceeds going to the development of senior, junior and women's cricket, as well as the Starlight Children's Foundation.

Golfer Paul Gow has returned to Australia after playing on the USPGA tour and will be conducting a golf clinic prior to play, while Comedian Vince Sorrenti will be guest hosting the auction in the evening.
