Donna Little wins a NSW Sport & Recreation Scholarship

Yes, Gordon's very own Deputy President Donna Little is a deserved recipient of a NSW Sport & Recreation Women's Sport Leaders Scholarship. Only 45 scholarships were available this year, which is open to women only in paid and voluntary roles in club/association, regional or state level sports, all over NSW. Donna is undertaking the Sports Management and Leadership Program which is a comprehensive training program which includes topics such as communication, financial management, corporate governance, coaching skills for leaders, sport, recreation & the law, and risk management to name a few.

The course is conducted over a 5 day period by a recognised training provider during July and August. Donna has just completed first the 2 days, and will complete the final 3 days in late August at the Narrabeen Academy of Sport.

Placement competition was fierce with applications assessed by representatives of NSW Sport & Recreation, and the sport & recreation industry. The course is aimed at improving the management and leadership skills of women working in the sport & recreation area. Within the program Donna is interacting with other women who have similar roles within other sporting organisations & learning & sharing info about their experiences.

We wish Donna well with the program and the club looks forward to the additional new skills and experience she brings back to Gordon.
