Thanks to the generosity of Harry Solomons and Kingsgrove Sports Centre, Gordon District Cricket Club, Women’s Division is thrilled to announce a “Player of the Month” will be available across 1st, 2nd, 3rd Grade and Brewer Shield for the months of October/ November/ December/ February/ March during the 2015-16 season. The January award will apply to 1st and 2nd Grade only.
The Player of the Month will be judged via each member of the team placing a 3-2-1 points vote on paper for the three players they believe have made the biggest impact on the outcome of each match. Votes will be tallied monthly and the player with the most votes awarded “Player of the Month” in their grade. If a player plays in more than one grade during the month the grade they have played most games in will apply.
Each “Player of the Month” will receive a $50 voucher to Kingsgrove Sports Centre where they can use the voucher to purchase items from Kingsgrove’s large range of cricket equipment, clothing and footwear.
During the season Kingsgrove Sports Centre will also contribute two fabulous items of cricket memorabilia for fundraising purposes.
Kingsgrove Sports Centre has been a generous contributor to The Mighty Reds for more than 20 years. On behalf of the Club, President Jess Henry has expressed immense thanks to Harry and Kingsgrove Sports for their ongoing and very generous support, without which we would face a greater financial challenge.
Don’t forget to purchase your cricket and soccer gear from the conveniently-located Artarmon Store of Kingsgrove Sports at 481 Pacific Highway, Artarmon (underneath Barbeques Galore and next to Bob Jane T-Mart).
Mention you are from Gordon Women’s Cricket and receive a 5% discount!
To demonstrate our commitment to female Cricket, Cricket NSW will be offering Community Cricket Coach accreditation and the Community Officiating accreditation for free to females across NSW.
If you are interested in any of these courses please email Jessica Henry (email@example.com) for more information.
The Gordon Women's Cricket Club U17 Academy will be launching in 2015. The Academy is modelled on the successful Gordon DCC Academy.

Calling all Reds players and supporters,
On Sunday 22nd February during our Second Grade match at Killara we will be stumping up to be part of the Pink Stumps Challenge by hosting our own Pink Stumps Day – an initiative from the McGrath Foundation that brings the magic of the Sydney Pink Test to our community!
We can’t wait to host our Pink Stumps Day in support of the McGrath Foundation but we need your help to raise as much as we can for the McGrath Foundation and smash our fundraising target. All women’s clubs will be participating in the Pink Stumps round and the proceeds collated under the Sydney Women’s banner.
We’re asking our friends, family, and colleagues to help us support the McGrath Foundation. It’s so simple, you can just go on our online fundraising page, click on the “Donate Now” button and you can make a donation. You will also be emailed a tax deductible receipt straight away.
Please click this link: https://www.gofundraise.com.au/page/scawc to support our cause!
All funds raised will be donated to the McGrath Foundation to ensure every family experiencing breast cancer in Australia has access to a breast care nurse, no matter where they live or their financial situation.
100% of all donations will go to the McGrath Foundation and you will automatically receive a tax-deductible receipt via email.
To find out more about the McGrath Foundation, visit www.mcgrathfoundation.com.au or check them out on Facebook (mcgrathfoundation), Twitter (mcgrathfdn) and Instagram (mcgrathfoundation).
As they say at the McGrath Foundation, together we can make a difference!
